Months ago, Rob and I were out hiking far from the top of the hilltop and found some rust. OK, so it wasn’t really pure rust, there was probably some metal under it, but we couldn’t find it. We knew what it was used for, but couldn’t date it. Last night, finally, I figured out who manufactured it! It doesn’t give us a definite date, at least not yet, but it does give us a pretty solid indication that we’re dealing with a pre-Ford area. There’s so much to find in this area, all of Highland Recreation Area, really. Looking forward to going out again this weekend.
