I was met at the door by one of their staff, who welcomed me and asked what I was researching. When I told her Haven Hill, she knew exactly what I was talking about, handed me a form to read and sign with their rules, and told me she’d go get everything they had. I expected a little information, but that’s not what I got.
As I was signing the form, she came back with a 2″ thick folder of various articles, copies of pieces of books, etc. More info than anywhere else I had looked. As I was looking through this, maybe half I’d never seen before (did you know Martha Stewart, the queen of cheap, pastel-colored home goods, tried to buy the place just before the lodge burned?), another librarian brought me a cart with two large boxes of photos, and me how to get copies of any I wanted.
The staff and, in the areas they cover, the collection there is great, too. When our book comes out, they’ll be getting a copy.
